On Friday, Dame Caroline Spelman visited 1683 Chocolate Place in Knowle to meet with one of the UK’s youngest chocolatiers, Joseph Vaughan.
Joseph, who is 17 and has been making chocolates since he was 13 years old, recently opened his store in Knowle High Street. Dame Caroline is just the latest in a line of special guest visitors; including the West Midlands Metro Mayoral Candidate and former John Lewis Boss, Andy Street.
Speaking about the visit, the Meriden MP said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to go and meet Joseph and see some of the delicious products on offer at 1683 Chocolate Place”.
“As one of the youngest chocolatiers in the UK, you cannot fail to notice the passion and creativity that goes into each and every hand crafted piece”.
“The store boasts a range of bespoke products, featuring over 40 flavours, and of course the exotic chocolate kebab; a sweet crêpe filled with fruits and sauces, and I was very pleased to be able to support Joseph by purchasing a box to give to a close relative”.
1683 Chocolate place features a selection of handcrafted chocolates; all made on the premises using the finest chocolates and highest quality ingredients. Situated on Knowle High Street, the business offers wedding and corporate services, as well as the chance for local residents to get a hands on experience in a ‘chocolate masterclass’.
