Local MP Caroline Spelman has expressed her delight at the completion of the new Marie Curie Centre in Marsh Lane, Solihull.
She said: “I have been following the building of the new Marie Curie hospice from planning to construction so I have a real sense of satisfaction to know it is up and running from January 12th.
“I made a ‘hard hat’ tour when it was just a building site and I have recently visited the completed £7 million centre. Like everyone else who the centre, I was very impressed by the facilities on offer and it promises to be one of the best and most modern hospices in the UK. It will be able to give terminally ill people the comfort and care they need in their final days and to provide support for their families.
“While the public have been very generous in raising money for the hospice, please don’t forget that it still needs more help. Over £6 million has been raised, but Marie Curie needs another £1million. To find out more, please go to www.mariecurie.org.uk and search for ‘Big Build’”
