Meriden MP Caroline Spelman was among the members of the Parliament Choir taking part in a special performance of Brahms’ Requiem on Saturday November 10th. The Parliament Choir joined local choir Saint Michael’s Singers and the Southbank Sinfonia, an orchestra of young musicians.
Caroline said: “It was a privilege to be able to sing in such a wonderful place to commemorate all those we have lost in war and in the service of our country. Coventry Cathedral is a monument to reconciliation and peace - a reminder to us all on the eve of Remembrance Day. It was a deeply moving performance of Brahms’ Requiem, recognised all over the world as a work which provides comfort to those who grieve for lost family and friends.”
