Following the Government reshuffle in which Caroline was removed from her role as Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Caroline made the following statement.
“I enjoyed my time at Defra where I helped to improve resilience in the face of both flood and drought, improve environmental protection and reduce the loss of species.
I had the privilege of working with many hugely talented people, not least Jim Paice, Richard Benyon and Lord Taylor and I am proud of what we have achieved.
I am now looking forward to continuing my service to my constituents in Meriden and to representing them from the back benches. I have no doubt that David Cameron and his team will work hard for our country in the coming months and I will do all I can to support them.”
