Birmingham Airport | Northbound Flight Path Changes

Birmingham Airport is undertaking a consultation* about proposed new flightpaths for aircraft departing the Airport to the north from Runway 33.

The Airport are required to implement new flight paths because of a national programme to modernise UK airspace, which is introducing changes in the technology used to navigate aircraft and which aims to deliver a more efficient airspace system for the UK.

Dame Caroline Spelman is working closely with residents affected by the proposed changes.

In response to the consultation, the MP said:

‘I am pleased be able to offer residents a guarantee that I will work closely with them and Birmingham Airport to campaign for appropriate noise mitigation and to ensure that local voices are heard.

Having been in regular contact with the airport for some weeks with regards to this issue, I am pleased that following a recent meeting with residents we have already secured some changes to the format of the consultation and that the airport has met with members of the Castle Bromwich Airport Forum, the Parish Council, and SMBC Ward Councillors about this important issue'.

*Please note that the consultation has now closed.

If you experience any problems with Aircraft Noise, concerns can be reported through the Airport's website here:
